Leverage Your Writing to Increase Your Affiliate Income
marketing, but much of it is un-focused and lacks integration.
We are told that we need original, focused, keyword-rich content
for our website if it is to attract search engine "crawlers" and
targeted visitors.
We are encouraged to update our affiliate marketing blog
daily because search engines love regularly updated, keyword-rich blogs.
We are advised to create a regular (at least weekly), personalised ezine for our mailing list and to include articles about
affiliate marketing.
We are admonished to send regular messages to our often-forgotten
downlines in affiliate programs and traffic exchanges.
We are told that writing original articles and submitting them to
article directories is a desirable form of viral marketing for
affiliate marketers.
We are urged to post to the forum of our affiliate program as
well as other forums associated with affiliate marketing.
Who has the time to do all these affiliate marketing activities?
Where are you going to find the time as a part-time affiliate
marketer?
One possible solution is to leverage your writing - make one
piece of writing serve multiple purposes .
So you have just created a post for your forum. Why not adapt
that post for your blog posting or create an article from the
post? You have written an article for your ezine, why not submit
it to article directories and/or send it to your affiliate
program downline?
Even if your posting to the forum is not adequate for an article,
you might use the title or core concept for an article. You
could add the title to your "article ideas" repository -
a spreadsheet, Notepad, word document or your mobile phone
"to-do-list".
Recently, I created an article for submission to article
directories. I then added this article to my “emarketing
articles” blog (to gain subscribers to my ezine), included it
in my weekly ezine, sent an abbreviated version to my downlines
in my affiliate programs and traffic programs and extracted some
content for inclusion in a forum posting and a posting to my
“affiliate programs” blog.
If you start thinking in terms of leveraging your writing, you
will be surprised by what you can achieve from just one original
piece of writing.
This article is written by Ron Passfield, PhD, who specializes in
online learning and coaching for affiliate marketing and personal development.

Promoting Your Website
There's a proven way to make money online, you can do this by selling information or knowledge you have.
The great part is you’ll be your own boss. You’re work from your home, while earning money on line. Isn't this fun?
But to successful, you’ll need to promote your website.
Make a comprehensive marketing plan that where you've clearly identified your markets and how to appeal to them. You’ll also need to
work closely with your web team to optimize your website, so your business connects with both the human audience and content spiders.
But remember – you can only do some much promotions and marketing before you fall flat on your nose. Be sure you have the following elements present in your website.
To promote your website successfully, you need to have great products and services. Otherwise, they will come in to look but won’t buy. Your promotional efforts will be a total waste.
Make sure your website is perfectly positioned, to sell and process orders. If your e-commerce aspect is not secure, then no one will buy. No matter how many great products you have. No matter how many links you swap with, promoting your website will just be a waste of time.
Third element – internet marketing, means you need a marketing plan which clearly speaks to your audience. Make sure that it's at a price you can afford. If you spend too much on your promotional efforts, only to have it die down because of lack of funds, you will lose your momentum. So stick to a promotional budget you can afford.
So how do you promote your website?
Website design
Keep your website design basic and user friendly. This means minimizing the use of animation or outlandish colors. Make sure your content has the appropriate keywords in them, so that search engines can read and put you at the upper top of the rankings.
Optimizing your website for search engine rankings
Make it a point to submit your website to two of the most popular and heavily used crawler based search engines - Yahoo and Google. If your promotional budget is small, make sure it’s keyword rich. Then submit, wait patiently for a few months before it to appear. Or you can do a sponsored listing if you have a bigger promotional budget.
Submit your website to directories. This is free; and many seo experts say you’ll dramatically increase your chances of appearing at the top of the search engine results. Try these directories: MSN, Yahoo, Google, AltaVista and Inktomi, for starters.
Do swap links with other websites. Only after, you’ve researched their websites to see if you’re a fit for each other. Some will refuse to swap links, but don’t let it throw you. Just keep trying.
Post authoritative comments about subjects you are knowledgeable about. A majority of these forums give you the freedom to put your URL at the bottom do so.
Lastly – write articles about subjects you are an expert on. Submit these articles to the directories that have big audiences. Include your URL and byline. Soon, you’ll get the traffic you need, because of the promotional efforts you’ve done.

How To Promote Your Site With A Contest
First of all, you need to determine the type of contest that you want to offer. There are many kinds of contests that you can offer on your website and you can even come up with your own if you want to. The most common types of contests that site owners run are described below.
Newsletter Contest
A newsletter contest is a contest where your site visitors will need to subscribe to your newsletter in order to be entered into the contest. This is an easy contest to run.
Entry Form Contest
An Entry Form Contest is a simple contest where your site viewers fill out a simple form such as name and email address and they are automatically entered into the contest. Most viewers prefer this type of contest because there is no further obligation.
Message Board/Forum Contest
If you have a Message Board/Forum on your site then you can offer a post-the-most contest where site viewers are required to post messages in order to win. The viewer who posts the most at the end wins the contest. There are also other ways you can use your message board for contests.
There are many other types of contests you can offer on your site. It all depends on your creative imagination!
Now you need to determine what you are going to offer as a prize for your free contest. If you own an e-commerce website and you sell products, you could offer one of your products or a gift certificate as a prize. If you have a service oriented website then you could offer free services as a prize. You could also ask other business owners to sponsor your contest by offering their products or services in exchange for site promotion.
Finally, we go on to why you should offer contests on your site.
The main reason you want to offer contests on your site is to promote & market your site! You want customers to find your products and services! Advertising & Marketing your business are two extremely important aspects to running a successful business especially an online business. Contests are a great free way to advertise your site, get visitors to your site and to increase your overall site traffic. This is also a good way to get more subscribers and repeat visitors to your site. It’s also a way for your customers to sample your products before purchasing them.
Now that you know all about how to run a contest on your site and you have decided what you want to offer, you now need to promote your contest. There are many paid and free ways to promote and advertise your contest. The best way to advertise your contest is to submit your contest to the many free contest directories available on the World Wide Web. Most of these contest directory websites are updated on a daily basis, and since everyone loves free contests these contest directory websites have high traffic rankings which means your contest will be seen.
Below is a list of free contest directories that I have complied while searching the web. Feel free to submit your contests to them. They all offer free and paid listings.

Make 'em Laugh!
It sounds almost too simplistic to say that in order to keep people interested, you first have to know what interests them. There are four basic areas that interest every human being and these are: sex, family, wealth and humour -– not necessarily in that order.
The adult sites have the sex side tied up, there are nearly as many genealogy and parenting sites as there are sex sites, and you don’t need me to tell you that the Internet abounds with sites that exist to help you increase your wealth. But that still leaves us with one other area of immense interest -– humour.
We all know, instinctively, that laughter is good for us. "Laughter," says Steven M Sultanoff, Ph.D, (in an article orginally published in AhHa! Furthering the Understanding of Holistic Health, the Newsletter of the American Holistic Health Association Winter, 1999, Vol. 5, No. 1 Page 4) is the physiological reaction to humor. The research on laughter, while limited, indicates that there are physiological benefits from laughter including an increase in certain antibodies, a reduction of specific stress hormones, and an increased tolerance to pain."
Children’s hospitals around the world are realising the value of laughter in helping young patients recover more quickly, and many now employ nursing staff to dress up as clowns to entertain the children.
If it can make sick people well, it’s no wonder humour is so popular!
Every site benefits from a little humour, because in this day and age, it doesn’t pay to take yourself too seriously, so think of how you can incorporate some fun into your site.
Many sites will send you a joke-of-the-day (http://www.jokeaday.com/6feed.shtml) and will give you permission to post this on your site if you include a link to them. These sites automatically update the material (similar to the news services).
If you’d prefer a cartoon instead of a joke, try here: http://www.bravenet.com/webtools/cartoon/index.php
The downside to these services is that visitors may be so taken with the idea, that they’ll click off your page to sign up for the service themselves and never return.
The solution?
Provide your own material. We all seem to receive countless pieces of humour with our email, so why not set up a page where you showcase your favourites? (Rememebr to acknowledge sources.)
Or write your own!
There’s rarely a day goes by that we don’t encounter some example of bureaucratic lunacy, political foolishness or general insanity as we go about our business. Keep your eyes and ears open for these situations. Whenever you find yourself chuckling or shaking your head with a silly smile on your face, stop and think about what has amused you. Make a mental note to add these to your collection.
Always choose material that suits your site’s subject matter, acknowledge the sources and away you go.
Write101 is a site that focuses on writing, so it’s natural that any humour on the site will relate to writing, education, learning etc.
If you’re having a bad day, there’s nothing like a chuckle to boost your spirits and help you put things into perspective. Recently, I received a photo that still sends me into guffaws – and I’ve looked at it dozens of times. If you need a bit of a laugh, this should do it: http://www.write101.com/W.Tips116.htm

Do You Want To Increase Your Website Traffic? You Need Content!
Whatever gets them to it, only one thing will ever make them come back. And that is "Content."
What is content? It is information of some type that is of interest to your visitors. They learn something new or see a new slant on something they had heard about or are otherwise entertained. They return, hopefully often, to see what you have new. Keeping content fresh is key. Here are some ways to do just that.
1. Start a newsletter that has articles and content about the products you sell on your website. Offer an opt-in signup form on you website to receive your newsletter. Send your opt-in list a newsletter at least once a week. To make it fresh, write about one of the features of your product in each newsletter.
To add content, answer questions from your subscribers. It will make them feel good seeing their names in print and the time it takes to write the answers will go toward writing your newsletter, not just answering one email. Many of your subscribers probably have had the same question, but didn’t know whom to ask or didn’t want to take the time to write.
One caution: don’t turn your newsletter into a commercial. Make it interesting and they will click on your URL and buy. Make it a commercial and they will unsubscribe! Get free reports or ebooks at free resource sites and offer them to your readers as a nice gesture or as a bonus for purchasing your product. People love freebies. Give them what they want and they’ll come back.
2. Take those same articles and submit them to Article Directories like http://www.ezinearticles.com/ . Be sure to attach a resource box to the bottom of your article. A resource box is a 4 to 6 line short bio about you and a description of your website, including a live link. When submitting your article, make sure to request the article to be reprinted "as is" with your resource box attached. Imagine your article being printed in several directories with URL’s linking to your website!
3. Increase your search engine ranking and, therefore, the number of visitors who visit your site, by posting articles and content on your website. The more you put keyword rich text in your articles, the more likely the search engines will pick up your site. So, if your business involves offering products and services related to health, posting health-related articles and content will attract visitors to your site. If your business involves offering products and services related to vitamins, posting articles and content about vitamins will attract visitors to your site. I think you get the idea by now.
4. Go to www.blogger.com and create a blog with a name relating to your niche market or product. Put the articles and content mentioned in item 3 above in your blog. Blogs lend themselves to articles. Put links to your main website in your blog. This may be easier than updating your main website with articles unless you can maintain it yourself and update it with FTP.
5. Create an automated cashflow by using content in email training courses that have strategically placed live links to your website and affiliate programs. Turn your articles into courses. Use an autoresponder to automatically deliver the course, one chapter at a time. Use your course as a sign-up bonus for your newsletter or the purchase of your product.
6. Visit Forums that are related to your niche market. Read what visitors have to say. If they ask a question that you can answer, answer it. Sign it with your resource box information and live link to your website or blog. Even better, tell them to visit your site to read about the subject. If you can't answer the question, research it and write an article about it. Put it on your site and return to the Forum and now tell them the answer or to visit your site. Do this quickly before someone else answers it.
7. Instead of writing articles, write a review about a product you have used. Make it honest and about 500 words long so that search engines will take the review seriously. Again, add your resource box at the end of the review.
These are some ways to increase your traffic to your websites and increase your ranking in the search engines. Maybe I have stimulated you to think of other ways. Good.
Whatever you do to get visitors to your websites, you must build a relationship of trust with them. Give them good, worthwhile content and you will build a large list of subscribers who will look forward to visiting your websites and receiving your newsletters and product offers. You will also build your reputation as an expert in your niche.
If you do this properly, then they will become customers, they will buy a lot of your products and you will become rich!
Regards,
Walter Bowman

All Time Most Effective Way to Get Backlinks to Your Website
Another is the submission to website directories which is a really over rated form of pr improvement, the benefits of submitting to these directories is not equal to the effort you put into it.
Directory Submission is a very tiring process where you must first find which directories are free submission sites because as a personal experience most of the website directories on the web are paid services. Some would even cloak product marketing by using a commonly formatted paid directory submission software just to improve the homepage visibility and pr rank.
And the most discouraging about website directory submission is that in the process of adding your site to the directory many of the free directory submission site would require you to immediately put up a reciprocal link to their site even before your site is approved. The result would be they do not approve your site and their site already has a backlink from your site.
Now, you would think that how can that be a problem?
Why dont you just erase their site if your site doesnt get approved. EASIER SAID THAN DONE! imagine compiling around 300 to 500 directory sites and submitting your site to all these site. Would you think you will have the energy to check site number 20 or 35 or 58 if they have approved your site if you are busy submitting your site to directory site number 90 or say site number 134? I dont think so.
For me and for the majority of the wise internet marketers the number 1 most effective way of improving backlinks and in the process promoting your product or site with a personal touch is .... ARTICLE SUBMISSION
Here are a few advantages of Article Submission:
1. Your get the much coveted backlink needed for the improvement of PR ranking of your site
2. You get the personal touch of promoting your site or product to the reader of the article.
3. Unlike reciprocal linking and website directory submissions.... Article Submission is a viral process.
Articles is a much coveted content source for ezine publishers and website owners. Imagine submitting your well written article to a highly popular Article Bank Site such as Article Avenue.com or Goarticles.com which are a source of articles for hundreds or even thousands of hungry content webmasters and then finding your article in 100 or more ezine and content sites in just a matter of weeks.
In my own experience after submitting my article to the big boys such as Article Avenue and Article City etc. in just a months time i already have hundreds of backlinks hitting my site not mentioning that my article is in the top 10 of its major keyword in major search engines.
Now, wouldnt that be a hell lot of a lighter job to accomplish!
Here is the Process of ARTICLE SUBMISSION:
Start making your article now and put a lot of thinking into it because one well written article is all you need to get your site to the top.
After creating your article submit it immediately to the big movers of articles which are:
1. Article Avenue.com (http://www.articleavenue.com) - Highly Recommended this site has a superb seo strategy that will help boost your article in the search ranking and also rotates all articles in the database in the its homepage making your articles ageless. Source of hundreds of content and ezine sites. No Popups.
2. Goarticles.com(http://goarticles.com)- Recommended Has a wide range of categories for your article and also a major source of articles by content sites. No Popups.
3. Articlecity.com(http://articlecity.com)- Has a large following of web authors and also a major source of articles by content sites. With Popups.
After submitting to a few other more article directories, just sit and wait for the fruits of your not so hard but effective labor.
Goodluck and See you at the top.

The Top Ten Ways To Promote Your Site And Increase Traffic
Increased web site traffic would mean more potential sales and an expanded customer base. Here are a ten useful ways to increase the volume of traffic of your site:
1. Get Your Own Domain Name.
People will never forget catchy domain names. Getting your own domain name will provide familiarity and recall. Be sure to choose a short and easy to remember domain name that is appropriate to your business.
2. Upload New, Original and Useful Content.
Blatant ads such as banners and pop-ups only irritate visitors. Give them information they can't find anywhere else, and give it to them for free. Always think benefits when posting a new article or feature. Thinking of ways to get your visitor what they want will establish respect and more importantly trust.
3. Submit Your Site to Search Engines.
Search engines bring more than 75% of traffic to most web sites. Search engine submissions means serious work. This involves search engine positioning and meta tag placements. It doesn’t end there because you need to test this with a number of search engine tools. This process involves constant monitoring of website competitors, and continuous editing of pages.
4. Pay For Top Spots.
The best way to get website traffic without trying too hard would be through paid advertisements. These advertisements would be posted on prime locations or banners of websites. Popular websites like leading newspapers and search engines would provide immediate recognition and visibility to their customers. Of course this entails some substantial advertising budget, but it is a good recourse for those who could afford it.
5. Form an Online Community.
An online community can be a message board, email groups, discussion list, and even a chat forum. Actively participate in these on-line groups by posting answers to other people’s questions and post appropriate information. Be visible and include your signature at the end of your postings. Maximize these special interest groups because people in online communities get involved easily and are ready to communicate with others.
6. Start Your Own Mailing List.
It is the best way to keep in touch with your prospects and your customers. This is the best way to build the credibility needed to close a sale to your target market.
7. Start an E-Zine for Your Website.
An E-zine is an extension of your site, but this will highlight new information and features of your site. People will be reminded of your website as they read each issue. If they find they issue interesting or worth sharing, they can easily and instantly pass this on to the people within their network.
8. Submit Articles.
Write your own article and submit it to e-zines, websites and magazines that accept article submissions. Be sure to include your business and contact information and website address in the resource box.
9. Exchange Ads.
Create ads that will promote your business and website. Submit this to e-zines or other websites in exchange for free ad space in your own electronic publication. Your presence to other site or publications is very important in getting the increased traffic that you want. This is usually facilitated with either simple links or flashy banners.
10. Update Your Website.
Your website should always be up and running. It is to your advantage if you maintain your website with new articles and updated features. Maintain a clean layout and check for broken links, images and pages. If they always find what they want and need, they will surely be coming back each time. Additionally, search engine spiders love a site with changing content!
